Thank you to everyone who contributed to our projects during Ramadan.
Quick background:
This Ramadan we had two projects we focused on with your support:
- We had our daily Iftaar meals being provided, this was over 800 people fed weekly with your support.
- We also had the Ramadan Monthly Support Pack, which was a large-size food pack provided to families in need that would support them for a whole month.
Timeframe: 9th March 2024 till 10th April 2024
Daily Iftaar Meals:
During the month of Ramadan, while people were fasting and still trying to make ends meet, our team with your support, prepared warm meals and distributed to those working on the streets so they could break their fast after a long day.
Warm meal packs included:
- Rice with fresh meat
- Fresh Bread
- Water
- Fruit (Either Apple or Banana)
Each pack was enough to feed two people, and cost $3 each ($1.50 USD)
Total of 3280 people fed.
Preparing of Warm Meals:
Distribution
We distributed meals to different locations across the city around iftaar time so that those in need could have a warm meal to enjoy their iftaar with.
We did distributions in areas with many less fortunate, and distributed multiple packs door to door, we gave packs to families who had broken their fast with only lentils.
We also visited the families who paid off their debt by making bricks all day, these are people who are known to make less than a dollar a day and they have all their kids with them working from sunrise making bricks. We distributed to multiple families here with their kids.
We also did an iftaar night for these brick laying families at their place where they worked, the kids were very happy.

Monthly Food Packs
During Ramadan many people supported families in need, as a Zakaat eligible project, we managed to raise enough to help over 500 families across 3 cities.
Revive Afghanistan NZ large distribution in rural Afghanistan.
Our Ramadan Support Packs cost only $130 per pack (NZD), that was 5000 AFN and included the following items:
- Large Flour
- Large Rice
- Oil
- Sugar
- Tea
- Lentils
- Beans
- Salt
- Drink (Rohabza)
Revive Afghanistan NZ large distribution in Kunar provincial capital.
With the donations raised we managed to provide support packs in 3 cities in Afghanistan, with a total of 500 Packs distributed, this also included support from two New Zealand charities that contributed towards Ramadan distributions.

Total Ramadan distributions: $69,920 (NZD)
Going forward
Many families are struggling and need support, you can help provide food packs throughout the year with our Feed the vulnerable cause, we also identified many families who can work but are struggling to do so, for that reason, we are in touch now to get them set up for Microbusinesses.
