Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Winter Relief packages for Kids.
Quick background:
Members of our leadership team visited Afghanistan at the end of 2022, they saw firsthand how bad the situation in Afghanistan had gotten from previous years and how many kids were on the streets begging, for this reason, Revive Afghanistan NZ focused on providing kids on the streets with warm clothes to make it through the cold and harsh winter of Afghanistan.
Since then we’ve conducted two large distributions for kids warm clothing, with 400 distributed in late 2022 and early 2023.
Timeframe: December 2023 till January 2024
Winter Appeal Poster:
Our Winter Relief Packs cost only $30 per pack (NZD) and included the following items:
- Beanie
- Jacket
- Gloves
- Socks
- Shoes
- Scarf
Plus some families received a large high quality blanket (donors added an additional $30 for this)
Revive Afghanistan NZ Team distributing in Kabul
With the donations raised we managed to provide the below support in 4 locations across Afghanistan:
Kabul
- 100 beneficiaries
Nangarhar
- 560 beneficiaries
- 250 in School to young boys and girls (Shekh Misry Camp)
- 100 in refugee camps (Sarmarkhel)
- 100 in poor area Bati Kot
- 110 to kids on the streets
Kunar
- 240 beneficiaries
Kunduz
- 100 beneficiaries

Total Beneficiaries: 1000 children supported (including orphans, students and less fortunate)
Total Items given out: 6000
Total Distributed: $30,000
Going forward
Our target was only 500 this year and alhamdulillah with the support of all of our donors we were able to double that, next year we hope to increase our target from 500 winter packs across 4 provinces and aim to hold it at 800 winter packs across 6 provinces including neglected areas including Nuristan and Laghman.
