Water Well 1

This Water well was built next to a madrassah that provides classes for young orphans, it has accessibility on the road so that 70 houses in the area can now access the water, that’s over 300 people who have access to clean water now in their locality.
Water Well 2

This water well was built in a remote village up in the mountains, with a 50,000L Water Reservoir and 8 split off points, Over 1000 individuals (150+ families) now have access to clean spring water
Water Well 3

This water well was built in an area where households did not have clean water, now they have cold clean water that all the neighbours can take advantage of.
We were able to get Water out at only 30M
Water Well 4

This water well was built in a very dry desert area, the village did not have access to any clean water and now completed hundreds of individuals have clean water access.
Due to the terrain this required alot deeper digging than the other water wells.
Water Well 5

Water Well in Shekh Misry New town, was built in a rural school with 2500 students, and provided clean water to over 550 local family members living near the school.

How do we choose our Water Well Location?
Throughout Afghanistan Water is needed. With over 70% of the population lacking access to clean water, the demand is high.
To determine our next Water Well location, we consider the following:
– How many families will it serve?
– Will it be near a school or educational institute?
– Are kids spending over an hour a day having to get water from far away sources?
– Is the current water supply an unclean/health risk?
What determines the cost of the Water Well?
One of our biggest aims is to provide Water throughout Afghanistan, and for this reason we do not charge any admin fees, below are the different things that determine the cost of the Water Well. Costs are determined prior to building.
The costs of the Water Wells always vary from location to location, due to the following:
Depth: How deep the well will be dug until a Water source is found, this is the largest cost of the Water Well, digging until a Water source is found, and this can be 20, 40, 60 or 100+ metres in some locations.
Solar: Once a Water Well is over 40 metres, it can no longer have a hand pump, and will then require a solar powered electric pump, that the locals can use to access the Water.
Container: The Water Container with taps and pipes ensures a continuous water flow, we highly recommend this for Solar Powered Water Wells
Location: Some locations have Water available quite easily, however many locations especially near the mountainous terrains requires deeper digging and heavier machines to break through the rocks.
Water Source: Unfortunately a common practice we’ve seen is as soon as water is found, others then stop digging to save costs, however this means after a few years or when there is a drought water in these sources dry up, to counter this, when we find water we then dig another 25-30M to ensure that our Water Wells stay working even during droughts or dry seasons.
